Buffalo Meditative is a non-Buddhist meditation group that meets once a week at St. John's Grace Episcopal Church in Buffalo New York. The Group follows the tradition of Spring Water Center for Meditative Inquiry located in the Finger Lakes region of Western New York.
We differ from other groups in that we do not stress the teachings of the Buddha nor any deity. Our format is carried out in a relaxed, simple and gentle way. Our intention is to allow each participant to follow their heart into the depths of pure listening and an honest investigation of what is here, pulsating in our day to day experience. We attempt to gently look at what is, without a need to intellectualize nor conceptualize our experience.

The inquiry dialogue conducted at the end of our meetings aims to shed clarity while exploring a theme or a question brought about after our readings or audio presentation. The group is peer led and there are no "teachers".
If you are new to silent meditation, we recommend that you arrive 15min. earlier. Thus a member can guide you in the basics of the practice.
The meetings are free of charge, however for the purpose of paying the rented space we suggest a minimal donation.
